Iron contributes to the following body functions:

In addition iron has a function in the cell division and contributes to a reduction of tiredness and exhaustion.

The absorption of iron from the bowel can only take place within the first 30 cm after the stomach. Iron, which is not absorbed there, remains inside the bowel and is excreted with stool.

The special feature of QINEVA® FE is the dosage form.

The iron is bound to components of the krill oil (phospholipids). These components then form small particles in the watery environment of the stomach, typically with a diameter of 65 nm. These small particles then adhere to the intestinal wall, they are digested and the released iron is absorbed. The α-, β-, γ- and δ-tocopherols contained in there serve the protection against oxidation of the fatty acids in the krill oil. Silicic acid facilitates the production of the particles from the phospholipids.

QINEVA® FE is produced in accordance with strict international quality criteria.

Recommended dosage:

A single capsule should be taken with a glass of water every day approximately 5 minutes before the breakfast. Please note that a cup of tea reduces the iron absorption by 75 – 80 % and a cup of coffee by 60 %. Ideally, first You drink a glass of orange juice for breakfast and only at the end a cup of tea of coffee. Since krill oil is used as a carrier for the iron, occasional fishy eructation after the intake is possible. 



Nutritional supplements are not a replacement for a balanced and varied nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. The specified recommended daily level of consumption may not be exceeded. Please keep the product out of reach of children.

Individuals with a known food intolerance against crustacean and shellfish or soy protein should avoid the intake of QINEVA® FE.

If thyroid hormones are taken 30 minutes and QINEVA® FE 5 minutes before the breakfast, an interaction is very unlikely. In case of doubt QINEVA® FE may be taken alternatively before lunch.

The intake of Captopril and QINEVA® FE has to take place with a delay of 30 minutes to prevent mutual interference.

Individuals that take Levodopa or antibiotics area advised to avoid the usage of QINEVA® FE.

Please note that the intake of calcium or gastric acid blocker reduce the iron absorption from the bowel.

After the intake the capsule dissolves inside the bowel. Thereby the containing krill oil is released and so-called phospholipids form, by the help of fluid, smallest particles with the bound nutrients. Because of the consistency and size they have a strong adhesion to the mucous membrane of the small intestine. Here the active substances are absorbed and the phospholipids are digested.
